Scam! Charged for a Trial

I installed the application, and it asked me to select a plan. The very first option-"Trial for a week"—was selected. I clicked "Continue" and, within a minute, noticed that $5 was charged to my account.
I realized that on the "Choose Plan" page, even if the "Trial" option is selected, it's not enough. It seems an additional hidden toggle bar must be enabled for that option. Isn't this a scam?
Yes, the app scans documents well, but these tricks to charge clients make it seem like the developers are taking customers for fools.
